Self-Contained Emergency Lighting

Self-Contained Emergency Lighting – Fault Finding

There are numerous self-contained emergency lighting products and systems, this can create a level of confusion for clients and their maintenance teams or partners, as terminology can often be inconsistent and difficult to decipher.

Emcal Systems understands the differences between all emergency lighting systems and when faults occur, we can succinctly diagnose problems and recommend solutions. We can source replacement products that are compatible or consistent with the rest of the products on site.

Self-Contained Emergency Lighting- Installation

We can install, test and commission products that are to either be replaced or need to be added to an existing system. This will be necessary when products come to end of life or new areas of a building are to be incorporated into an existing system.

Self-Contained Emergency Lighting – Emergency Lighting Maintenance & Testing

It is a UK regulatory requirement to test all emergency lighting. This needs to happen every month, in the form of a function test, this checks that the luminaires light up from their battery source.

A full duration test is also required annually; this checks that the connected luminaires will remain lit for the stated duration.

All results of both tests must be recorded and, most importantly, any faults need to be addressed.

As Emcal Systems provide an entire range of emergency lighting solutions and services, we can handle this process from start to finish. We can run the test, identify failures, source, install and commission replacements. This enables the client or their chosen FM partner to focus on other things.
