Emcal Emergency Lighting Solutions is an evolution of Emcal Systems.
After several years of providing on-site emergency lighting services, such as maintenance and testing, Emcal has now become an independent collaborative specifier, supplier and installer of all types of emergency lighting. We work hard to understand client and site requirements, balancing budgets to specify and supply the right, bespoke solution.
Known for our family feel, we will always retain our personal, friendly and supportive approach. Family is at the heart of Emcal, the name itself is derived from an amalgamation of founder Mark Platts daughter Emily, and his son Callum.
Mark has over 40 years’ experience in emergency lighting engineering and service team management; he decided to set up the Emcal business in 2018. Having worked for emergency lighting manufactures, he gained crucial, real-world, on-site experience and skills, he also developed an understanding of what is most important to clients. Mark developed a clear vision and understanding of how a service partner can add value and improve overall customer experience.
In 2020 Mark was joined in the business by his son Callum. As a qualified electrical engineer, Callum already had experience of completing projects for a range of clients, including Mondelez (Cadbury), Nissan, BMW, Greencore, Princes, Thorlux Lighting and Furriness and White. Callum quickly established himself as an integral part of the team and since joining has worked on commercial and industrial projects for emergency lighting (including Central Battery Systems), off-grid systems, energy efficient lighting, fire safety and security systems.
Together Mark and Callum are excited and enthused to lead, manage and expand Emcal to become a more holistic emergency lighting solutions provider.
